These parties have been such a uniquely nourishing experience. Thanks to all for making it so good. 

While trades and exchanges of bodywork are the bulk of our time, it is about so much more. These gatherings give us the chance to experience the fullness of what bodywork can be. As professional massage therapists, we have permission to ask each other for permission to get creative, to learn advanced body work from each other, to practice things we might want to try and to ask for things that we otherwise might not have the chance to experience. We get to practice making a container of clear communication, respect for boundaries and informed consent—which is always helpful. 

Perhaps most of all, the magic is in community and connection. We can benefit so much from just being…
